Mental Fitness is the capacity to respond to life challenges with a positive rather than a negative mindset. The Positive Intelligence team, under the mentorship of Shirzad Chamine, PhD (neuroscientist, researcher, executive coach and Stanford lecturer), has analyzed and measured the immense impact of Mental Fitness on people’s lives.
I came into this work after decades of working as an educator for the Jewish community. I truly value healthy, positive relationships including those with oneself and with others. After raising three children of my own, accompanying them through their lives and tribulations, being a mom to a gay son and being married to my husband for 30+ years, I feel that this is my calling. This is how I can serve others. As I said in the “About Me” section, for this I was born!
Many of us exercise to keep our bodies in shape. We run, lift weights, go for walks and attend classes in the local gym. We do this with the understanding that it takes time and effort to achieve the physical results we desire.
The same is true with Mental Fitness work. The more we exercise our brains, creating neural pathways that did not exist before, the more likely we will achieve the outcomes we seek.

Intercept your Saboteur.
You Saboteurs generate all your negative emotions, including stress, anxiety, self-doubt, anger, avoidance, procrastination, insensitivity or discontent. You’ll learn to intercept and weaken your most damaging Saboteur Power. Most participants discover their Saboteur to be far more prevalent and damaging than they suspected.
Strengthen your Sage Power.
Your Sage is the one in you that handles challenges with a clear and calm mind, and positive emotions. It also has access to your 5 primary powers. After weakening your Saboteurs, it is now time to strengthen your Sage, the counterpart to your Saboteurs. Your Sage Power lives in an entirely different part of your brain.
Improve your “self-command” brain muscle.
You’re not in full command of your mind. If you were, you would choose to not stress out over what you can’t control, push away self-doubts, recover from disappointments immediately, and spend little time in anger, regret, or blame. Self-command is key to intercepting unhelpful mental habits and rewiring your brain to respond more effectively.
