She helped my son realize his full potential.

Best Barmitzva I have ever attended. It was light, fun and Dorice kept the attendees involved. Just the right amount of Hebrew and English so that which ever language was native, there was enough that was strung together for great continuity. The prayers were sang in the tunes that have been used for the last 60 years, so everyone knew them rather than using new melodies that most dont know. Dorice made the ceremony very real, fun, and relaxed. Best ever!

Dafni Noam

Dorice Horenstein created an unforgettable Bar Mitzvah experience for our son, Yahel, and our entire family. She made learning meaningful, engaging, and deeply rooted in Jewish values and family traditions. The ceremony was beautiful, spiritual, and inclusive. Dorice connected with guests from diverse backgrounds, including those joining over Zoom, making everyone feel part of the moment. With tremendous sensitivity, she also included Yahel’s brothers, helping each feel valued and connected. We are deeply grateful to Dorice for creating such a meaningful, warm, and unforgettable family experience. We highly recommend her and the entire process!

Smadar Magnazi Mother of Bat Mitzvah boy

Dorice brings the joy and energy to every experience. More coach than tutor. More inspiration than education, she helped our kids connect with the content and ritual in a majorly positive and uncommon way. She is the best!

Jewish Wisdom for Personal Growth

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Jewish learning is not just about mastering letters or chanting a trope. It’s about unlocking meaning, confidence, and connection.

I teach Hebrew and Jewish wisdom through:

Whether you're 10, 40, or 70… it’s never too late to deepen your Jewish journey.

WHY HEBREW MATTERS

pexels-cottonbro-5986498
pexels-cottonbro-5986495

Every letter carries meaning.
Every root opens doors to deeper understanding.
Every word connects you to thousands of years of wisdom, tradition, and identity.

When someone learns Hebrew for the first time, something beautiful happens:
their confidence grows, their identity strengthens, and their connection deepens – to themselves, their heritage, and their community.

I’ve watched children who doubted themselves become poised and shining on their B’nai Mitzvah day.

I’ve seen adults who thought they “missed their chance” suddenly read with clarity and pride.

I’ve taught people from interfaith homes who finally felt like they truly understood the meaning behind the prayers they hear each year.

Hebrew is more than a language - it’s a heartbeat.

Hebrew awakens something ancient and joyful inside us.

Hebrew transforms. Hebrew
connects.

And it would be my honor to help awaken that in you or your child.

Frequently Asked Questions About Jewish Coaching & Hebrew Learning

Do you teach both children and adults?
Yes, I work with learners of all ages: children preparing for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, adults returning to Jewish learning, and anyone beginning their Hebrew journey. My approach is tailored to the unique goals and rhythm of every learner.
Do you offer one-on-one or group coaching?
I offer sessions for individuals (one-on-one), which is the most personalized option, as well as small group coaching, tailored to the unique goals of every learner.
Do I need any Hebrew background to start?
No background needed! I teach Hebrew decoding from the very beginning and help you build reading confidence quickly. For those with some background, we focus on fluency, conversational Hebrew, and understanding the meaning behind prayers.
Can you help prepare for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah?
Absolutely. I offer full-service coaching for Bar, Bat, and Adult B’nai Mitzvah. This includes tutoring, Torah/Haftarah chanting (trop), personalized speech guidance, and service creation (traditional, meaningful, or tailored for diverse families).
Do you work with interfaith families?
Yes. My approach is warm, inclusive, and welcoming. I explain each prayer, tradition, and Hebrew phrase with clarity so that everyone in the family feels included, empowered, and connected. Your story belongs here.

Absolutely. I offer full-service coaching for Bar, Bat, and Adult B’nai Mitzvah, including tutoring, Torah/Haftarah chanting (trop), personalized speech guidance, and service creation.

Yes. As part of the B’nai Mitzvah journey, learners often create a personalized, meaningful prayer book or service guide for their big day, incorporating their own unique insights and creativity.
How long does it take to learn to read Hebrew?
Most students can decode Hebrew confidently in just a few weeks with consistent sessions. Building fluency and comprehension takes a bit longer, but we focus on making the process joyful and meaningful from day one.
